16 And God made two lights,[a] the greater light[b] to rule[c] the day and the smaller light[d] to rule[e] the night, and the stars. 17 And God placed them in the vaulted dome[f] of heaven[g] to give light on the earth 18 and to rule over the day and over the night, and to separate light from darkness.[h] And God saw that it was good.

16 God made two great lights—the greater light(A) to govern(B) the day and the lesser light to govern(C) the night.(D) He also made the stars.(E) 17 God set them in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth, 18 to govern the day and the night,(F) and to separate light from darkness.
