5 Abram took Sarai his wife, Lot his brother’s son, all their possessions that they had gathered, and the people whom they had acquired in Haran, and they went to go into the land of Canaan. They entered into the land of Canaan. 6 Abram passed through the land to the place of Shechem, to the oak of Moreh. At that time, Canaanites were in the land.
7 Yahweh appeared to Abram and said, “I will give this land to your offspring.”[a]
He built an altar there to Yahweh, who had appeared to him.

5 He took his wife Sarai,(A) his nephew Lot, all the possessions they had accumulated(B) and the people(C) they had acquired in Harran, and they set out for the land of Canaan,(D) and they arrived there.
6 Abram traveled through the land(E) as far as the site of the great tree of Moreh(F) at Shechem.(G) At that time the Canaanites(H) were in the land. 7 The Lord appeared to Abram(I) and said, “To your offspring[a] I will give this land.(J)”(K) So he built an altar there to the Lord,(L) who had appeared to him.
