^7 (A)Then the Lord appeared to Abram and said, ^(B)“To your ^[a]descendants I will give this land.” And there he built an ^(C)altar to the Lord, who had appeared to him.

^4 (A)I have also ^[a]established My covenant with them, ^(B)to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their ^[b]pilgrimage, ^(C)in which they were ^[c]strangers. ⁵ And ^(D)I have also heard the groaning of the children of Israel whom the Egyptians keep in bondage, and I have remembered My covenant. ⁶ Therefore say to the children of Israel: ^(E)‘I am the Lord; ^(F)I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, I will ^(G)rescue you from their bondage, and I will redeem you with ^[d]an outstretched arm and with great judgments. ⁷ I will ^(H)take you as My people, and ^(I)I will be your God. Then you shall know that I am the Lord your God who brings you out ^(J)from under the burdens of the Egyptians. ⁸ And I will bring you into the land which I ^(K)swore^[e] to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; and I will give it to you as a heritage: I am the Lord.’ ”
