¹³ Then ^[a]a fugitive came and told Abram the ^(A)Hebrew. Now he was ^[b]living by the ^[c](B)oaks of Mamre the Amorite, brother of Eshcol and brother of Aner, and these were ^[d](C)allies with Abram.

²⁴ That place was called the valley of ^[a]Eshcol, because of the cluster which the sons of Israel cut down from there.

⁹ For when they went up to ^(A)the ^[a]valley of Eshcol and saw the land, they ^[b]discouraged the sons of Israel so that they did not go into the land which the Lord had given them.

^24 (A)They turned and went up into the hill country, and came to the valley of Eshcol and spied it out.
