⁷ Then they turned back and went to En Mishpat (that is, Kadesh),^(A) and they conquered the whole territory of the Amalekites,^(B) as well as the Amorites^(C) who were living in Hazezon Tamar.^(D)

⁴⁵ Then the Amalekites and the Canaanites^(A) who lived in that hill country^(B) came down and attacked them and beat them down all the way to Hormah.^(C)

⁸ “He asked me, ‘Who are you?’

“‘An Amalekite,^(A)’ I answered.
