12 And it happened, as the sun went down,[a] then a deep sleep fell upon Abram and, behold, a great terrifying darkness fell upon him. 13 And he said to Abram, “You must surely know[b] that your descendants shall be as aliens in a land not their own.[c] And they shall serve them[d] and they[e] shall oppress them four hundred years. 14 And also the nation that they[f] serve I will judge. Then[g] afterward they shall go out with great possessions.
