¹⁸ On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, “I give this land to your offspring,^(A) from the Brook of Egypt^(B) to the great river, the Euphrates River: ¹⁹ the land of the Kenites, Kenizzites, Kadmonites, ²⁰ Hethites, Perizzites, Rephaim, ²¹ Amorites, Canaanites, Girgashites, and Jebusites.”

¹⁷ And I have promised you that I will bring you up from the misery of Egypt^(A) to the land of the Canaanites, Hethites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites—a land flowing with milk and honey.

⁵ When the Lord brings you into the land of the Canaanites, Hethites, Amorites, Hivites, and Jebusites,^[a] which he swore to your ancestors that he would give you, a land flowing with milk and honey,^(A) you must carry out this ceremony in this month.^(B)

²⁵ They took some of the fruit from the land in their hands, carried it down to us, and brought us back a report: ‘The land the Lord our God is giving us is good.’^(A)

⁵ in order to establish the oath I swore to your ancestors,^(A) to give them a land flowing with milk and honey, as it is today.’”

I answered, “Amen, Lord.”^(B)
