⁵ And He brought him outside and said, “Now look toward the heavens, and ^(A)number the stars, if you are able to number them.” And He said to him, “^(B)So shall your seed be.”

¹⁷ indeed I will greatly bless you, and I will greatly ^(A)multiply your seed as the stars of the heavens and as ^(B)the sand which is on the seashore; and ^(C)your seed shall possess the gate of his enemies.

¹³ Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, Your servants to whom You ^(A)swore by Yourself, and You said to them, ‘I will ^(B)multiply your seed as the stars of the heavens, and ^(C)all this land of which I have spoken I will give to your seed, and they shall inherit it forever.’”

⁷ “^(A)Yahweh did not set His affection on you nor choose you because you were more in number than any of the peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples,

^22 (A)Your fathers went down to Egypt seventy persons in all, ^(B)and now Yahweh your God has made you as numerous as the stars of heaven.

⁵ And you shall answer and say before Yahweh your God, ‘^(A)My father was a ^[a]wandering Aramean, and he went down to Egypt and ^[b]sojourned there, ^(B)few in number; but there he became a ^(C)great, mighty, and populous nation.

⁶² Then you shall remain few in number, ^(A)whereas you were as numerous as the stars of heaven, because you did not listen to the voice of Yahweh your God.
