And Sarai said unto Abram, My wrong be upon thee: I gave my handmaid into thy bosom; and when she saw that she had conceived, I was despised in her eyes: Jehovah judge between me and thee. But Abram said unto Sarai, Behold, thy maid is in thy hand; do to her that which is good in thine eyes. And Sarai dealt hardly with her, and she fled from her face.

And the angel of Jehovah found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness, by the fountain in the way to Shur.

Then Sarai said to Abram, “You are responsible for the wrong I am suffering. I put my slave in your arms, and now that she knows she is pregnant, she despises me. May the Lord judge between you and me.”(A)

“Your slave is in your hands,(B)” Abram said. “Do with her whatever you think best.” Then Sarai mistreated(C) Hagar; so she fled from her.

The angel of the Lord(D) found Hagar near a spring(E) in the desert; it was the spring that is beside the road to Shur.(F)
