²⁴ Then the Lord rained down burning sulfur^(A) on Sodom and Gomorrah^(B)—from the Lord out of the heavens.^(C)

²⁵ Thus he overthrew those cities^(A) and the entire plain,^(B) destroying all those living in the cities—and also the vegetation in the land.^(C)

²³ The whole land will be a burning waste^(A) of salt^(B) and sulfur—nothing planted, nothing sprouting, no vegetation growing on it. It will be like the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah,^(C) Admah and Zeboyim, which the Lord overthrew in fierce anger.^(D)
