²⁴Then the Lord ^(A)rained brimstone and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah from the Lord out of heaven,

New International Version

²⁴Then the Lord rained down burning sulfur^(A) on Sodom and Gomorrah^(B)—from the Lord out of the heavens.^(C)

⁹^[a]Its streams will be turned into pitch,
And its loose earth into ^(A)brimstone,
And its land will become burning pitch.

⁹Edom’s streams will be turned into pitch,
her dust into burning sulfur;^(A)
her land will become blazing pitch!
