26 But Lot’s[a] wife looked back as she lingered behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.
27 Abraham went early in the morning to the place where he had stood before the Lord earlier. 28 He looked off toward Sodom, Gomorrah, and the entire[b] plain, and he saw smoke rising from the land like smoke from a furnace.

27 Early the next morning Abraham got up and returned to the place where he had stood before the Lord.(C) 28 He looked down toward Sodom and Gomorrah, toward all the land of the plain, and he saw dense smoke rising from the land, like smoke from a furnace.(D)
