¹⁶And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden;^(A)

¹⁷but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil ^(A)you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it ^(B)you^[a] shall surely ^(C)die.”

¹⁷but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil,^(A) for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”^(B)
