Abraham and Sarah at Gerar

20 From there Abraham journeyed toward the region of the Negeb and settled between Kadesh and Shur. While residing in Gerar as an alien,^(A)

¹⁷ And God heard the voice of the boy, and the angel of God called to Hagar from heaven and said to her, “What troubles you, Hagar? Do not be afraid, for God has heard the voice of the boy where he is.^(A)

¹⁸ Come, lift up the boy and hold him fast with your hand, for I will make a great nation of him.”^(A)

¹¹ But the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said, “Abraham, Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.”

¹⁵ The angel of the Lord called to Abraham a second time from heaven

¹¹ Then the angel of God said to me in the dream, ‘Jacob,’ and I said, ‘Here I am!’^(A)
