4 But Abimelech had not slept with Sarah. So he said, “Lord, would you destroy an innocent nation? 5 Abraham himself told me, ‘This woman is my sister.’ And she also said, ‘He is my brother.’ I am innocent. I did not know I was doing anything wrong.”
6 Then God said to Abimelech in the dream, “Yes, I know that you did not realize what you were doing. So I did not allow you to sin against me. I did not allow you to sleep with her.

New International Version
4 Now Abimelek had not gone near her, so he said, “Lord, will you destroy an innocent nation?(A) 5 Did he not say to me, ‘She is my sister,(B)’ and didn’t she also say, ‘He is my brother’? I have done this with a clear conscience(C) and clean hands.(D)”
6 Then God said to him in the dream, “Yes, I know you did this with a clear conscience, and so I have kept(E) you from sinning against me.(F) That is why I did not let you touch her.
