Genesis 21:11-13

Good News Translation

¹¹This troubled Abraham very much, because Ishmael also was his son. ¹²^(A)But God said to Abraham, “Don't be worried about the boy and your slave Hagar. Do whatever Sarah tells you, because it is through Isaac that you will have the descendants I have promised. ¹³I will also give many children to the son of the slave woman, so that they will become a nation. He too is your son.”

Genesis 21:11-13

New International Version

¹¹The matter distressed Abraham greatly because it concerned his son.^(A) ¹²But God said to him, “Do not be so distressed about the boy and your slave woman. Listen to whatever Sarah tells you, because it is through Isaac that your offspring^[a] will be reckoned.^(B) ¹³I will make the son of the slave into a nation^(C) also, because he is your offspring.”
