Genesis 21:11-13

¹¹^(A)The matter ^[a]distressed Abraham greatly because of his son. ¹²But God said to Abraham, “^[b]Do not be distressed because of the lad and your maid; whatever Sarah tells you, listen to her, for ^(B)through Isaac ^[c]your descendants shall be named. ¹³And of ^(C)the son of the maid I will make a nation also, because he is your ^[d]descendant.”

¹¹The matter distressed Abraham greatly because it concerned his son.^(A) ¹²But God said to him, “Do not be so distressed about the boy and your slave woman. Listen to whatever Sarah tells you, because it is through Isaac that your offspring^[a] will be reckoned.^(B) ¹³I will make the son of the slave into a nation^(C) also, because he is your offspring.”
