¶ The Lord God of heaven, who took me from my father’s house, and from the land where I was born, and that spake unto me, and that swear unto me, saying, (A)Unto thy seed will I give this land, he shall send his Angel before thee, and thou shalt take a wife unto my son from thence.

Nevertheless if the woman will not follow thee, then shalt thou be [a]discharged of this mine oath: only bring not my son thither again.

Then the servant put his hand under the thigh of Abraham his master, and sware to him for this matter.
