²⁸ They said, “We see plainly that the Lord has been with you. So we said, let there be a sworn pact between us, between you and us, and let us make a covenant with you,

³⁴ And Ben-hadad said to him, ^(A)“The cities that my father took from your father I will restore, and you may establish bazaars for yourself in ^(B)Damascus, as my father did in Samaria.” And Ahab said, “I will let you go on these terms.” So he made a covenant with him and let him go.

^32 (A)You shall make no covenant with them and their gods.
