²⁰ And Jacob stole away, unknown to Laban the Syrian, in that he did not tell him that he intended to flee.

²⁴ But God ^(A)had come to Laban the Syrian in a dream by night, and said to him, “Be careful that you ^(B)speak to Jacob neither good nor bad.”

⁵ And you shall answer and say before the Lord your God: ‘My father was ^(A)a ^[a]Syrian, ^(B)about to perish, and ^(C)he went down to Egypt and ^[b]dwelt there, ^(D)few in number; and there he became a nation, ^(E)great, mighty, and populous.
