11 Then Shechem said to Dinah’s father and brothers, “Grant me this favor,[a] and I’ll give you whatever you say. 12 Demand of me a high compensation[b] and gift; I’ll give you whatever you ask me. Just give the girl to be my wife!”
13 But Jacob’s sons answered Shechem and his father Hamor deceitfully because he had defiled their sister Dinah.

11 Then Shechem said to Dinah’s father and brothers, “Let me find favor in your eyes,(A) and I will give you whatever you ask. 12 Make the price for the bride(B) and the gift I am to bring as great as you like, and I’ll pay whatever you ask me. Only give me the young woman as my wife.”
13 Because their sister Dinah had been defiled,(C) Jacob’s sons replied deceitfully(D) as they spoke to Shechem and his father Hamor.
