11 Then Shechem said to her father and to her brothers, “Let me find favor in your eyes, and whatever you say to me I will do. 12 Make the bride price and gift as high as you like;[a] I will give what you say to me. But give me the girl as a wife.” 13 Then the sons of Jacob answered Shechem and his father Hamor speaking deceitfully, because he had defiled Dinah their sister.

11 Then Shechem said to Dinah’s father and brothers, “Let me find favor in your eyes,(A) and I will give you whatever you ask. 12 Make the price for the bride(B) and the gift I am to bring as great as you like, and I’ll pay whatever you ask me. Only give me the young woman as my wife.”
13 Because their sister Dinah had been defiled,(C) Jacob’s sons replied deceitfully(D) as they spoke to Shechem and his father Hamor.
