¹² Timna was a concubine of Esau’s son Eliphaz and she bore ^(A)Amalek to Eliphaz. These are the sons of Esau’s wife Adah.

²⁰ And he looked at Amalek and took up his discourse and said,

¹⁷ “^(A)Remember what Amalek did to you along the way when you came out from Egypt, ¹⁸ how he met you along the way and attacked among you all the stragglers at your rear when you were faint and weary; and he ^(B)did not ^[a]fear God. ¹⁹ Therefore it shall come about when the Lord your God has given you ^(C)rest from all your surrounding enemies, in the land which the Lord your God gives you as an inheritance to ^[b]possess, you shall blot out the memory of Amalek from under heaven; you must not forget.

² Thus says the Lord of hosts, ‘I will ^[a]punish Amalek ^(A)for what he did to Israel, how he set himself against him on the way while he was coming up from Egypt.
