¹² Timna was a concubine of Esau’s son Eliphaz, and she bore ^(A)Amalek to Eliphaz. These are the sons of Esau’s wife Adah.

²⁰ And he looked at Amalek and took up his discourse and said,

¹⁷ “^(A)Remember what Amalek did to you on the way when you came out of Egypt, ¹⁸ how he confronted you on the way and attacked among you all the stragglers at your rear when you were tired and weary; and he ^(B)did not ^[a]fear God. ¹⁹ So it shall come about, when the Lord your God has given you ^(C)rest from all your surrounding enemies in the land which the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance to ^[b]possess, that you shall wipe out the mention of the name Amalek from under heaven; you must not forget.

² This is what the Lord of armies says: ‘I will ^[a]punish Amalek ^(A)for what he did to Israel, in that he obstructed him on the way while he was coming up from Egypt.
