11 But one day, when he went into the house to do his work and none of the men of the house was there in the house, 12 (A)she caught him by his garment, saying, “Lie with me.” But he left his garment in her hand and fled and got out of the house. 13 And as soon as she saw that he had left his garment in her hand and had fled out of the house, 14 she called to the men of her household and said to them, “See, he has brought among us a Hebrew to laugh at us. He came in to me to lie with me, and I cried out with a loud voice. 15 And as soon as he heard that I lifted up my voice and cried out, he left his garment beside me and fled and got out of the house.” 16 Then she laid up his garment by her until his master came home, 17 and she told him the same story, saying, “The Hebrew servant, whom you have brought among us, came in to me to laugh at me. 18 But as soon as I lifted up my voice and cried, he left his garment beside me and fled out of the house.”

19 As soon as his master heard the words that his wife spoke to him, “This is the way your servant treated me,” his anger was kindled. 20 And Joseph's master took him and (B)put him into the (C)prison, the place where the king's prisoners were confined, and he was there in prison.

11 One day he went into the house to attend to his duties,(A) and none of the household servants(B) was inside. 12 She caught him by his cloak(C) and said, “Come to bed with me!”(D) But he left his cloak in her hand and ran out of the house.(E)

13 When she saw that he had left his cloak in her hand and had run out of the house, 14 she called her household servants.(F) “Look,” she said to them, “this Hebrew(G) has been brought to us to make sport of us!(H) He came in here to sleep with me, but I screamed.(I) 15 When he heard me scream for help, he left his cloak beside me and ran out of the house.”(J)

16 She kept his cloak beside her until his master came home. 17 Then she told him this story:(K) “That Hebrew(L) slave(M) you brought us came to me to make sport of me. 18 But as soon as I screamed for help, he left his cloak beside me and ran out of the house.”

19 When his master heard the story his wife told him, saying, “This is how your slave treated me,” he burned with anger.(N) 20 Joseph’s master took him and put him in prison,(O) the place where the king’s prisoners were confined.
