²⁰Joseph’s master took him and put him in prison,^(A) the place where the king’s prisoners were confined.

But while Joseph was there in the prison,

²So Pashhur had Jeremiah the prophet beaten and put him in the stocks at the Upper Benjamin Gate in the Lord’s temple.

²he had Jeremiah the prophet beaten^(A) and put in the stocks^(B) at the Upper Gate of Benjamin^(C) at the Lord’s temple.
