22 Zillah, Lamech’s other wife, gave birth to Tubal-cain. Now he was a bronze- and ironsmith, and his sister was Naamah.

23 One day, Lamech announced to his wives:

Lamech: Adah and Zillah, listen to me!
        Wives of Lamech, I need to tell you something!
    I killed a man who struck me.
        He was a young man who wounded me first.
24     Here’s how I see it:
        if Cain is avenged seven times,
        then surely Lamech must be avenged seventy-seven times!

23 Lamech said to his wives,

“Adah and Zillah, listen to me;
