²And Pharaoh was wroth against two of his officers, against the chief of the butlers, and against the chief of the bakers.

²⁴When I smiled at them, they scarcely believed it;
the light of my face^(A) was precious to them.^[a]^(B)

²⁴If I laughed on them, they believed it not; and the light of my countenance they cast not down.

²A king’s wrath strikes terror like the roar of a lion;^(A)
those who anger him forfeit their lives.^(B)

²The fear of a king is as the roaring of a lion: whoso provoketh him to anger sinneth against his own soul.
