⁴And the captain of the guard charged Joseph with them, and he served them; so they were in custody for a while.

⁴The captain of the guard^(A) assigned them to Joseph,^(B) and he attended them.

After they had been in custody^(C) for some time,

⁷So he asked Pharaoh’s officers who were with him in the custody of his lord’s house, saying, ^(A)“Why do you look so sad today?”

¹²And Joseph said to him, ^(A)“This is the interpretation of it: The three branches ^(B)are three days.
