⁴² Then Pharaoh ^(A)took off his signet ring from his hand and put it on Joseph’s hand, and clothed him in garments of fine linen and ^(B)put the gold necklace around his neck. ⁴³ He had him ride in ^[a]his second chariot; and they proclaimed before him, “^[b]Bow the knee!” And he set him over all the land of Egypt. ⁴⁴ Moreover, Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Though I am Pharaoh, yet ^(C)without ^[c]your permission no one shall raise his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt.”

¹⁶ But I personally have heard about you, that you are able to give interpretations and solve difficult problems. Now if you are able to read the inscription and make its ^(A)interpretation known to me, you will be ^(B)clothed with purple and wear a necklace of gold around your neck, and you will have authority as the ^[a]third ruler in the kingdom.”

²⁹ Then Belshazzar gave orders, and they ^(A)clothed Daniel with purple and put a necklace of gold around his neck, and issued a proclamation concerning him that he now had authority as the ^[a]third ruler in the kingdom.
