Then he saw seven heads of grain come after them, which were small and made dry by the east wind. And the small heads of grain ate the seven large, full heads of grain.

Then Pharaoh awoke and saw that it was a dream. So when morning came his spirit was troubled. He called for all the wise men of Egypt. Pharaoh told them his dreams. But there was no one who could tell Pharaoh the meaning of them.

After them, seven other heads of grain sprouted—thin and scorched by the east wind.(A) The thin heads of grain swallowed up the seven healthy, full heads. Then Pharaoh woke up;(B) it had been a dream.

In the morning his mind was troubled,(C) so he sent for all the magicians(D) and wise men of Egypt. Pharaoh told them his dreams, but no one could interpret them for him.(E)
