GOD’S WORD Translation
28 He said to his brothers, “My money has been put back! It’s right here in my sack!”
They wanted to die. They trembled and turned to each other and asked, “What has God done to us?”

29 When they came to their father Jacob in Canaan, they told him all that had happened to them. They said, 30 “The governor of that land spoke harshly to us and treated us like spies.

New International Version
28 “My silver has been returned,” he said to his brothers. “Here it is in my sack.”
Their hearts sank(A) and they turned to each other trembling(B) and said, “What is this that God has done to us?”(C)
29 When they came to their father Jacob in the land of Canaan,(D) they told him all that had happened to them.(E) They said, 30 “The man who is lord over the land spoke harshly to us(F) and treated us as though we were spying on the land.(G)

28 And he said unto his brethren, My money is restored; and, lo, it is even in my sack: and their heart failed them, and they were afraid, saying one to another, What is this that God hath done unto us?
29 And they came unto Jacob their father unto the land of Canaan, and told him all that befell unto them; saying,
30 The man, who is the lord of the land, spake roughly to us, and took us for spies of the country.
