³⁴ When portions were served to them from Joseph’s table, Benjamin’s portion was five times as much as anyone else’s.^(A) So they feasted^(B) and drank freely with him.

²² To each of them he gave new clothing,^(A) but to Benjamin he gave three hundred shekels^[a] of silver and five sets of clothes.^(B)

⁴ Whenever the day came for Elkanah to sacrifice,^(A) he would give portions of the meat to his wife Peninnah and to all her sons and daughters.^{(B) 5} But to Hannah he gave a double portion^(C) because he loved her, and the Lord had closed her womb.^(D)
