Genesis 47:23-25
Contemporary English Version
23 Then Joseph said to the people, “You and your land now belong to the king. I'm giving you seed to plant, 24 but one fifth of your crops must go to the king. You can keep the rest as seed or as food for your families.”
25 “Sir, you have saved our lives!” they answered. “We are glad to be slaves of the king.”

New International Version
23 Joseph said to the people, “Now that I have bought you and your land today for Pharaoh, here is seed(A) for you so you can plant the ground.(B) 24 But when the crop comes in, give a fifth(C) of it to Pharaoh. The other four-fifths you may keep as seed for the fields and as food for yourselves and your households and your children.”
25 “You have saved our lives,” they said. “May we find favor in the eyes of our lord;(D) we will be in bondage to Pharaoh.”(E)
