Genesis 48:4-6

4 and promised, “I will give you a large family with many descendants that will grow into a nation. And I am giving you this land that will belong to you and your family forever.”
5 Then Jacob went on to say:
Joseph, your two sons Ephraim and Manasseh were born in Egypt, but I accept them as my own, just as Reuben and Simeon are mine. 6 Any children you have later will be considered yours, but their inheritance will come from Ephraim and Manasseh.

New International Version
4 and said to me, ‘I am going to make you fruitful and increase your numbers.(A) I will make you a community of peoples, and I will give this land(B) as an everlasting possession to your descendants after you.’(C)
5 “Now then, your two sons born to you in Egypt(D) before I came to you here will be reckoned as mine; Ephraim and Manasseh will be mine,(E) just as Reuben(F) and Simeon(G) are mine. 6 Any children born to you after them will be yours; in the territory they inherit they will be reckoned under the names of their brothers.
