^10 (A)The ^[a]scepter shall not depart from Judah,
Nor ^(B)a lawgiver from between his feet,
^(C)Until Shiloh comes;
^(D)And to Him shall be the obedience of the people.

⁵ The Lord has broken ^(A)the staff of the wicked,
The scepter of the rulers;

¹⁷ Bemoan him, all you who are around him;
And all you who know his name,
Say, ^(A)‘How the strong staff is broken,
The beautiful rod!’
