¶ Then Cain spake unto Abel his brother. And (A)when they were in the field, Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.

Then the Lord said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? Who answered, I cannot tell. [a]Am I my brother’s keeper?

10 Again he said, What hast thou done? the [b]voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me, from the earth.
