Genesis 50:10-12
International Standard Version
10 When they arrived at Atad’s threshing floor, which is located beyond the Jordan River,[a] they held a great and mournful memorial service, during which Joseph[b] spent seven days mourning for his father. 11 As soon as the Canaanites who lived in the land observed the mourning going on at Atad’s threshing floor, they commented “This is a significant time of mourning for the Egyptians.” That’s why the place, which is located beyond the Jordan River,[c] became known as Abel-mizraim.[d]

12 And so Israel’s[e] sons did what he had instructed them to do:

New International Version
10 When they reached the threshing floor(A) of Atad, near the Jordan, they lamented loudly and bitterly;(B) and there Joseph observed a seven-day period(C) of mourning(D) for his father.(E) 11 When the Canaanites(F) who lived there saw the mourning at the threshing floor of Atad, they said, “The Egyptians are holding a solemn ceremony of mourning.”(G) That is why that place near the Jordan is called Abel Mizraim.[a]
12 So Jacob’s sons did as he had commanded them:(H)
