22 Joseph and his father’s family stayed in Egypt. Joseph lived to be 110 years old. 23 He saw his grandchildren, Ephraim’s children. Even the children of Machir, son of Manasseh, were adopted by Joseph at birth.

24 At last Joseph said to his brothers, “I’m about to die. God will definitely take care of you and take you out of this land to the land he swore with an oath to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”

The Death of Joseph

22 Joseph stayed in Egypt, along with all his father’s family. He lived a hundred and ten years(A) 23 and saw the third generation(B) of Ephraim’s(C) children.(D) Also the children of Makir(E) son of Manasseh(F) were placed at birth on Joseph’s knees.[a](G)

24 Then Joseph said to his brothers, “I am about to die.(H) But God will surely come to your aid(I) and take you up out of this land to the land(J) he promised on oath to Abraham,(K) Isaac(L) and Jacob.”(M)
