^6 (A)The Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was ^(B)grieved ^[a]in His heart. ⁷ The Lord said, “^(C)I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, from man to animals to creeping things and to birds of the ^[b]sky; for ^(D)I am sorry that I have made them.”

^14 (A)So the Lord changed His mind about the harm which He said He would do to His people.

^35 (A)Samuel did not see Saul again until the day of his death; for Samuel ^(B)grieved over Saul. And the Lord regretted that He had made Saul king over Israel.

^16 (A)When the angel stretched out his hand toward Jerusalem to destroy it, ^(B)the Lord relented from the calamity and said to the angel who destroyed the people, “It is enough! Now relax your hand!” And the angel of the Lord was by the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite.
