⁷ Then the Lord appeared to Abram and said, “I will give this land to your offspring.”^(A) So he built an altar there to the Lord who had appeared to him.

³ stay in this land as a foreigner, and I will be with you and bless you.^(A) For I will give all these lands to you and your offspring,^(B) and I will confirm the oath that I swore to your father Abraham.^{(C) 4} I will make your offspring as numerous as the stars of the sky, I will give your offspring all these lands, and all the nations of the earth will be blessed^[a] by your offspring,^(D)

¹⁶ ‘Since the Lord wasn’t able to bring this people into the land He swore to give them,^(A) He has slaughtered them in the wilderness.’^(B)

²³ will ever see the land I swore to give their fathers.^(A) None of those who have despised Me^(B) will see it.

Remembering God through Obedience

¹⁰ “When the Lord your God brings you into the land He swore to your fathers Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob that He would give you—a land with large and beautiful cities that you did not build,

²³ but He brought us from there in order to lead us in and give us the land that He swore to our fathers.
