⁸ Then he proceeded from there to the mountain on the east of Bethel, and pitched his tent with ^(A)Bethel on the west and Ai on the east; and there he built an altar to the Lord and ^(B)called upon the name of the Lord.

¹⁹ Then he named that place ^[a](A)Bethel; but ^[b]previously the name of the city had been ^(B)Luz.

²² Likewise the house of Joseph went up against Bethel, and the Lord was with them.
