²² So Laban brought together all the people of the place and gave a feast.^(A)

²⁵ Today he has gone down and sacrificed great numbers of cattle, fattened calves, and sheep. He has invited all the king’s sons, the commanders of the army and Abiathar the priest. Right now they are eating and drinking with him and saying, ‘Long live King Adonijah!’

Invitation to the Thirsty

¹¹ I say to you that many will come from the east and the west,^(A) and will take their places at the feast with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.^(B)

⁴ “Then he sent some more servants^(A) and said, ‘Tell those who have been invited that I have prepared my dinner: My oxen and fattened cattle have been butchered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding banquet.’

⁹ Then the angel said to me,^(A) “Write this:^(B) Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!”^(C) And he added, “These are the true words of God.”^(D)
