²⁸ These are the tribes of Israel, 12 in all, and this was what their father said to them. He blessed them, and he blessed each one with a suitable blessing.

⁴ And Moses wrote^(A) down all the words of the Lord. He rose early the next morning and set up an altar and 12 pillars for the 12 tribes of Israel at the base of the mountain.

The Borders of the Land

¹³ This is what the Lord God says: “This is^[a] the border you will use to divide the land^(A) as an inheritance for the 12 tribes of Israel. Joseph will receive two shares.^(B)

²⁸ Jesus said to them, “I assure you: In the Messianic Age,^[a](A) when the Son of Man sits on His glorious throne,^(B) you who have followed Me will also sit on 12 thrones, judging the 12 tribes of Israel.

⁷ the promise our 12 tribes hope to attain as they earnestly serve Him night and day. King Agrippa, I am being accused by the Jews because of this hope.^(A)

¹² The city had a massive high wall, with 12 gates. Twelve angels were at the gates; the names of the 12 tribes of Israel’s sons were inscribed on the gates.
