⁶ So ^(A)the Lord was sorry that He had made mankind on the earth, and He was ^(B)grieved ^[a]in His heart. ⁷ Then the Lord said, “^(C)I will wipe out mankind whom I have created from the face of the land; mankind, and animals as well, and crawling things, and the birds of the sky. For ^(D)I am sorry that I have made them.”

^14 (A)So the Lord relented of the harm which He said He would do to His people.

³⁵ And ^(A)Samuel did not see Saul again until the day of his death, though Samuel ^(B)mourned for ^[a]Saul. And the Lord regretted that He had made Saul king over Israel.

^16 (A)When the angel extended his hand toward Jerusalem to destroy it, ^(B)the Lord relented of the disaster and said to the angel who destroyed the people, “It is enough! Now drop your hand!” And the angel of the Lord was by the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite.
