Why dost thou show me iniquity, and [a]look upon perverseness? for destruction and violence are before me; and there is strife, and contention riseth up. Therefore the law is slacked, and justice [b]doth never go forth; for the wicked doth compass about the righteous; therefore justice goeth forth perverted.

Why do you make me look at injustice?
    Why do you tolerate(A) wrongdoing?(B)

“Look at the nations and watch—
    and be utterly amazed.(H)
For I am going to do something in your days
    that you would not believe,
    even if you were told.(I)
