6 [a]Ye have sown much, and bring in little: ye eat, but ye have not enough: ye drink, but ye are not filled: ye clothe you, but ye be not warm: and he that earneth wages, putteth the wages into a broken bag.
7 Thus saith the Lord of hosts, Consider your own ways in your hearts.
8 Go [b]up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build this House, and [c]I will be favorable in it, and I will [d]be glorified, saith the Lord.

- Haggai 1:6 Consider the plagues of God upon you for preferring your policies to his religion, and because ye seek not him first of all.

6 You have planted much, but harvested little.(A) You eat, but never have enough.(B) You drink, but never have your fill.(C) You put on clothes, but are not warm. You earn wages,(D) only to put them in a purse with holes in it.”
7 This is what the Lord Almighty says: “Give careful thought(E) to your ways. 8 Go up into the mountains and bring down timber(F) and build my house, so that I may take pleasure(G) in it and be honored,(H)” says the Lord.
