Hebrews 10:28-30
Contemporary English Version
28 (A) If two or more witnesses accused someone of breaking the Law of Moses, that person could be put to death. 29 (B) But it is much worse to dishonor God's Son and to disgrace the blood of the promise that made us holy. And it is just as bad to insult the Holy Spirit, who shows us mercy. 30 (C) We know that God has said he will punish and take revenge. We also know that the Scriptures say the Lord will judge his people.

28 Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.(A) 29 How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God(B) underfoot,(C) who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant(D) that sanctified them,(E) and who has insulted the Spirit(F) of grace?(G) 30 For we know him who said, “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,”[a](H) and again, “The Lord will judge his people.”[b](I)
