Then I said, ‘I have come to do what You want, O God. It is written in the Law that I would.’”

Then Christ said, “You do not want animals killed or gifts given in worship to you for sin. You are not pleased with them.” These things are done because the Law says they should be done. Then He said, “I have come to do what You want Me to do.” And this is what He did when He died on a cross. God did away with the Old Way of Worship and made a New Way of Worship.

First he said, “Sacrifices and offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not desire, nor were you pleased with them”(C)—though they were offered in accordance with the law. Then he said, “Here I am, I have come to do your will.”(D) He sets aside the first to establish the second.
