18 the one it had been said about, Your seed will be traced[a] through Isaac.(A)[b] 19 He considered God to be able even to raise someone from the dead,(B) and as an illustration,[c] he received him back.
20 By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau(C) concerning things to come.

18 even though God had said to him, “It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.”[a](A) 19 Abraham reasoned that God could even raise the dead,(B) and so in a manner of speaking he did receive Isaac back from death.
20 By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau in regard to their future.(C)
